Bio
WHO IS RONOVE OROBAS?
THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK
Ronove Orobas is a singer/songwriter originating from South East London. Orobas has been behind a plethora of projects within the last decade, the most prevalent being both Xero Styx and Ache Tape.
After stepping away from both projects he decided he needed to ground himself, making the decision to front his own solo project. He has used this opportunity to further expand his sonic soundscape, experimenting with a range of different genres and sounds, while continuing to progress with his industrial and metal roots.
While not necessarily being religious or a believer in the supernatural, the name Ronove Orobas was inspired by the Ars Goetia: A grimoire on demonology featured in the first section of The Lesser Key of Solomon.
Ronove (in the grimoire) is described as a Marquis and Great Earl of Hell commanding nineteen legions of demons who teaches art, rhetoric and languages. Orobas on the other hand is a Great Prince of Hell, commanding twenty legions of demons. He is known for his honesty and will answer truthfully when asked any questions regarding the past, present and future.
Ronove Orobas wanted to incorporate these two figures into his identity as they relate closely to what his music is generally trying to convey to his audience, the exploration of art, language and the uncomfortable truths that come with experience and existence.
