ANNOUNCING TRENCH SPEAK
Ronove Orobas's debut album scheduled for release in early 2027!
Trench Speak is a dual-narrative concept album which tackles the horrors of an industrial military complex while at the same time focusing on the psychological decay of the everyday person. The narrative operates simultaneously as an a-political critique on systemic exploitation while being a visceral metaphor for everyday battles with anxiety, depression, toxicity and burnout, all set against the unrelenting backdrop of industrial warfare.
The artwork was drawn by Ronove Orobas and invokes heavy WW1 imagery, much like the album itself. The claustrophobic piece specifically depicts a lone soldier during a gas attack stripped of any identifying features other than his figure, weapon and a pair of stark red eyes in his mask. All are an indicator of the albums narrative, metaphors and thematic imagery.
The last two tracks of the album are both covers that serve a cinematic conclusion to the albums narrative.
The first is Kevin Riepl's Gears Of War, the main theme of the revered video game series featured heavily in the first entry. The Gears Of War franchise as a whole served as heavy inspiration for the project in terms of its setting, world building and premis alongside other grimdark universes and historic events such as WW1 and WW2. The track pushes that industrial grind onward while giving structure to the chaos of industrial warfare, but refusing to shy away from its horror at the same time.
The next track is a cover of Mad World (specifically the Gary Jules version) which is also tied to Gears Of War as well, being first featured in the reveal trailer for the first Game and later the third entry. R. Orobas chose the track for similar reasons as the previous cover, but this time he also found that it harkened back to the beginning of the album. It ties the narrative threads nicely while leaving the listener room to ruminate on the psychological aspects of the album whilst winding down from the chaotic narrative, with this specific version's original debut factoring into the reasoning as well which was the film Donnie Darko.

WIRE MAN EP
OCTOBER 2026
Releasing in October, the Wire Man EP will serve as a teaser to the upcoming album. It will feature the first four tracks of the record as well as the previously released Swan (Lake), an exclusive bonus track for the EP. Like the Trench Speak artwork, the Wire Man artwork was drawn and created by Ronove Orobas himself, taking inspiration from a range of different depicted body horror works and the Japanese film Tetsuo: The Iron Man.
